Zoo photography isn't the easiest excercise when winter lighting and infra-red heaters play havoc with white balance and slanted glass barriers throw all kinds of reflections into the lens.
I was at Twycross Zoo yesterday, it was mostly cold and rather dull, so most animals were sensibly in warm corners.
On looking at my many shots of apes and monkey's I realised that the lighting used gave everything a very yellow cast, which is why I did this mono conversion, adjusted via targeted contrast grading and then a touch of a lithography filter from TOPAZ labs.
I took well over a hundred frames so still lots to get the best from.
