Robbie's back. He arrived the first week in September, about the same time he appeared last year as we were busy removing a large bush from close to our front window. An opportune timing as he stayed close by observing us closely for some time, then, when we had moved some roots and soil he calmly came in close and quickly caught and ate several insects and worms - no flies on Robbie-boy. He was around long enough for me to go into the house, get my camera, return, and get some shots, which I posted last year. I still have some video of him in action.

Well, wonderfully, he remembered us at the first sighting this year, that we were aware of anyway, and flew straight over to me and helped himself from a mug of seeds I had in my hand to put on the bird tray. The next few times I was in the garden he flew close and hovered in front of me as if checking me out, then settled close bye. He is still singing like a wee champ, but has chosen a different tree - higher up than last year - probably because since we last saw him we have befriended two local cats, Belle and Sterling - our names for them, so, so far we have not enjoyed the same level of interaction with him as last year, as our two new buddies are often about. Lovely to have him return to our garden; a lovely wee creature who always puts a smile on our faces.

My picture is a bit of a cheat being one I took of him last year, and possibly being inspired by Mo I've arted, not tarted, it up a bit. Negation can do some neat things with colours.
