Here is an image that I took a couple of months ago at a local park. This is my second attempt at using an off camera strobe to balance the sunlight. The shoot started much later than originally planned due to the fact that I got lost....not once, but twice. I guess that's what I get for planning a shoot in another city without having a GPS system to guide me! Oh, and the model's friend, who was going to be the shoot assitant, had her car break down while we were driving to the shoot location. Did I mention that there was a soccer tournament at the shoot location so we had to deal with dozens of people walking by while we attempted to take this photo?

Despite the many obstacles, the model had a great attitude and it turned out to be a fun shoot.

One last thing....please do not tell the park that it was me who knocked over the water fountain into the path in the garden. I just barely leaned on it and it fell over. We tried to put it back, but it was too heavy for us to lift! I might not be allowed back if they knew that it was me....

A real stand-out image Rebekah, has an amlost rendered feel to it but is real enough to be believeable. Striking.

As already said great texture and colour in the dress and it contrasts so well with the deep blue sky. Well worth all the hassle.
Not sure if I voted for the shot or the story behind it!

Great work.

its really tricky getting the balance right isn't it? Most of the shots of Coral that I posted a few weeks back were like this, strong, low sunlight off to one side, strobe filling the gaps

Like me, you've concentrated on the top 1/2 - getting the face and torso lit - which I reckon is the best way with strobes where you can't always get the full length of the body covered like you can with those long soft boxes

nice work Smile

Don't know if you've seen this - but we've got a forum thread about off camera flash going on at the moment. Unlike most threads, it's all about sharing ideas and is really positive, be good to have you join it

A soccer match is much more of a problem in the UK, believe me! On the other hand, you could blame a rowdy fan for the fountain here, usually...

Lovely result. you are doing stuff that most PS users couldn't dream of: because you are producing real art. And film-based people like me have to recognise that PS is not always evil if used extensively!

You continue to open my eyes to things that expand my view... Keep it up!
