Narnia a.k.a. Cloughlea

By markst33
This is a little area in Co Wickow which you would never come across unless you are specifically looking for it. I have said in the past that its like a cross between Narnia and Middle earth.

The difficulty with it is that there is so much beauty and character that you are tempted to try and fit everything in and so getting a composition together that works can be a lot trickier than you would think.

I have thrown out many many images from here as when I looked at them at home on the computer they did just not work.

I was here on Saturday evening about 45 mins before Sunset and the light was beautiful. Again I have been here many times where the light just never materialised and you go home with nothing of interest.

The last time I was here I had my Tokina 11-16mm but this time I used my 24-70 as I recently bought the Z6 so this is the widest lens I have now.
This is actually a 5 image Panorama stitched together in LR.
On another subject - does anyone know why the website does not have the Nikon Z cameras in the listing to choose from in the Camera field

Simple bit first. It can take a while for the site to catch up with new cameras. Just report it to support as a technical issue.

I do rather feel that there may be a little bit too much in the frame here. I'm a great fan of Colin Prior's panoramic landscapes, because he finds ways to relate the elements to each other, so that your eye flows across the frame, maybe eddying around a bit. But there's always that flow. Panoramas need that in a way that an ordinary frame doesn't, because you need to have multiple elements to fill the space.

In this case, I think there are pictures to be made of the rocks on the left, or of the river itself.

Is there a slight tilt? It's hard to be sure, because of the converging verticals, but the waterfall looks a bit skewed.

Will have a play...

@Willie - I have "suggested new camera" on a number of occasions when uploading images. Thought it would be there by now.
