Those skies you had were wonderful Dougie. I don't know where this is - but it's unusual to see fields in the north of Scotland. You've got some lovely light on them - just in the right place to brighten the image!

An image full with a huge slice of divine intervention. The sublime light has illuminated this gorgeous landscape to expose its very best and endearing features.

What a huge expanse of far northern countryside from cultivated fields, nicely picked out by the sun, moorland and mountains and with a big sky above: the deeply shadowed f/g band forms a nice base to the image, and I can see you have chosen your viewpoint most carefully and waited for the light to be just right, Dougie.

More important than the sunlight, it's that dark, brooding cloud shadow that it casts. I can see it moving over the land.

lovely patchy light, sky is superbly dark & dramatic.
Looks like Loch Loyal to the right middle distance - happy memories of fishing there with my son, years ago.
