Natural Resource

In the interior of Bahia close to the border of Minas Gerais iron ore is extracted in many places. In this one, half of the hill had already been dug out at the expense of the Atlantic rain forest which used to cover the east of Brazil and stretch from the south of Brazil and parts of Paraguay and Argentina up to Rio Grande de Norte 2500 miles away. Now the 15% remaining is under threat, mainly from rich agriculture (soya; most of which is exported) and mining.
