Nature's Textures

By LynneJoyce
I am a lover of colour but believe it or not I do go out and deliberately try to capture images that are suitable for monotone and duotone conversion. So it was on this day at Hirst Woods when I set out to capture images that were all about shape and texture. Hirst Woods offers a wealth of opportunities because it is beautifully managed woodland. Felled trees are left for fungi, wildlife and photographers, the paths and seating are well maintained. A short walk along the canal at the end of the woodland path there is a lovely pub that serves a good lunch. I am so lucky to have this treasure on my doorstep.

Here are just a few examples of my textural shots from that day. I have posted the original colour shots followed by the conversions. Thank you for viewing. I hope that you enjoy at least some of these images.

Very good selection Lynne!
Not a recommendation but I wonder how they would look if the border was removed and the black background selected.
Hope you had some fun doing all his work Lynne, very enjoyable to look at.
No 11 is interesting but I like the warmth of wood, silver birch excepted.

Excellent set

A fine demonstration of just what can be done with a little imagination and a lot of thought, Lynne.
Well done, firstly for finding the subject matter, and secondly, for creating such excellent results.

I've always had a love of wood, especially this kind. I admire your work, but keep coming back to the original colour versions, even though they have very little colour, they just appeal to me because they're so natural.

V4 is my favorite. I also prefer the natural colors of the wood. They are all very interesting.
