Still trying to get to grips with my camera, will i ever get there. Its really hard to catch a bird in flight. Just wish it was a bit more colourful.Any advice on bird photography. Thank you for taking the time to look, i appreciate it. x

Looks a fine photograph to me, there is a bit of mist which may not help. I would say the bird is sharp ish, I wonder how fast the autofocus is on your camera? Anyway, exposure time is right, to freeze movement, so all you need is practice.

Excellent capture, well timed. As long as you are happy with the shot thats all that counts, there is room for improvement for all of us. Well done.

Nice capture. Good timing, i like the shape in the wings and the way the feet are just touching the water.

Given the bridge camera you are using Andrea this is damn spendid..(I had a bridge camera and never got close to a shot like this...I now have a dslr and lense that have really quick focus ability which makes life so much easier on the inflights)
I love the primaries of the gull splayed and showing real motion....the mist on the water really adds to it all.
I suggest you put it in the critique gallery and allow modifications and see what a little post processing can do on what is a fantastic capture.
All the Best
Paul
