We're into the final week of our walking tour of the Peak District (cue sighs of relief...), and yes it's those stepping stones again.
This was the day when every Year 11 Geography class in the country descended on Dovedale for their Field Studies trip.
There were swarms of them, all clutching their clipboards, all concentrating on anything but Geography.
They were fairly laid-back about crossing the river, but I liked the girl who appeared to be considering a sharp left turn. Just what was going through her mind?
Incidentally most of them were sensibly shod, but if you look towards the back of the queue, there's the mandatory pair of ballet pumps. She had just done about 5 miles in those...
Thanks for looking.
Moira

Fascinating series full of interest and extremely well photographed ~ this is your forte. Curious to know what it says on the National Trust sign.

this is the best of the crossing shots for me, the path coming down he hill is a subtle eye guide to the action and the crop is well balanced, (like those crossing!)

I once went on an organised walk and some of the ladies had dainty shoes on, by the time we got back from a tour round Buttermere in wet and boggy conditions, all of the shoes had to be thrown away. Thanks for the reminder.
Super shot Moira, didn't anyone fall in ?

She is going to jump in,then that would leave nine geography students balancing on the stones.Another fine line up here.A fine line of stones too.I like that path going up to the top right corner of frame.Another winner Moira.

Now I saw a sign today as I was taking photos telling me to register with the authorities before I took pictures of young people (on a canoe slalom course on the Tees) - there were no young people about. Are we transgressing if we take simple, enjoyable natural images like these? I do hope not!
