Nest Building

By SUE118
Morning all. I had a lovely surpriseSmile when I went to work yesterday at Ornamental Lake. My swans I call them my swans building a nest. I've never seen this happen before and it was lovely. One can see the love from the male to his mate ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Anyway it was great to witness and I certainly got to work with a huge smile on my face. The only problem is that they've built their nest near a fishing platform and path so in a way I'm hoping they may change their minds and go somewhere else where it will be a lot safer for them and their family. I'll keep you posted.

A lovely optimistic observation. Maybe they can close the fishing platform until the cygnets are old enough not to be threatened. Contact the RSPB for advice.
