Terrific colour & texture
It's a long time since I saw some really high quality 24 carat rust here. Time was when you couldn't move on the site for rust, the site had the (strictly unofficial) RAS, Rust Appreciation Society. It's founder, long since gone from the site and I suspect from this life, had a particular passion for padlocks with all their odd quirks and peculiarities, as you have picked up on here. I watched him at work a few times, entirely oblivious of the security guards circling ready to pounce...
All that is a digression. Rust if sympathetically treated is a fabulous subject, all textures and rich colours. And totally different materials that weather together have this wonderful way of turning the same colour.
