New Veg!

By cattyal
I picked up some more bits and bobs to play with this weekend - some of it might even get eaten - but I won't promise that.

Hopefully there will be some decent light tomorrow and I can try a few with just window light. The softbox is ok but natural light is so much better if it's right.

The room stinks of garlic - I did kind of mash one of the cloves whilst pulling it apart and despite keeping it in a plastic box it still whiffs.....

Very nicely done and the rough texture suits the vegetables perfectly - I really like the effect you've achieved here. I once helped a friend with an Old Masters-type still life shoot where she was using a pair of dead rabbits (ingredients for stew, apparently) - being an organised sort of girl she'd got them a few days beforehand and I could smell them way before I got into her studio! Inside the room you could've cut the smell with a knife Smile

A fine combination. As a purist, I'd love to see the plastic tie removed from the beets though...takes away from the "old masters" effect.

Thanks everyone Smile I've done some more today in natural light- they come out much better and I dare say one or two will appear in due course.

Oh Joline - I removed the plastic tie just for you on the ones I did today Smile

Oh Anna - I'd love to add some dead lifestock to my pics but yep - the smell would not be good and I'd have no use for them when I'd finished with the photos Smile
