New Wood

By cattyal
I've been visiting my family this weekend and they have a nice wood-burner in the living room. What's more they have lots of nice bits of bark removed from the logs outside so I pinched a couple of bits and will probably pinch lots more next time I'm there Smile

I just had to give them a quick go this evening. I did another version which I think was a bit better composition wise but I go to the final flatten layers bit and the software went splat. I wasn't about to start all over again this evening so this will have to do for now Smile

Love the wood, well worth collecting a few more, i wonder if the f4.5 dof is a bit short on this one with the bottle getting the min coc not the shroom.
I'd like to have a go copying this sometime.
Cheers,
Stuart

Thanks everyone Smile

Yep the dof is a bit out - as I said, it really was a quickie! I'll be playing more with the wood another evening when I've a bit more time.

I do enjoy your still life images - really excellent. I have done a mod - not sure it will be your taste. I wanted to see if the bottle would look better when moved to the right slightly - I think it does - except it now looks like it is leaning ever so slightly Tongue I then played a bit with blur and textures - probably over done but thought I would load it anyway Smile Steve

Thanks again everyone and thank you Steve for your mod. As it happens my failed alternative version featured the bottle in the same position as your mod but like I said, I really couldn't be arsed to start over last night.

I appreciate mods - yours is a style I'd never have considered and it is interesting to see alternative interpretations - and I do like it Smile

Such wonderfully earthy tones in this.
It may be a quickie, but it works well.
