New Zealand Shag

By VincentChristopher
I take all my pics in their natural state ie not within an enclosed environment . We made our way to South Bay Kaikoura South Island - during this visit we intended to search and photograph the wild life...unfortunately due to the earthquake of 2016 most of the fur seals had left due the up lift & movement of the shore line.
Fortunately the bird life was still there.
Intending to search out Shags on the foreshore...none to be found...until I elevated my eyes into the nearby trees and spotted a group of Shags.

This particular one was not playing " ball " with a glint in his/her eye....until a helicopter flew over and he/she turned his/her head and the sun did the rest with the eye capture

Hope to like .

( sorry I've been off line for the last couple of weeks - poor internet connections as we travel )

Wonderful Vince. So glad the helicopter did you a favour. The detail and clarity are both first class. Pam

Looking very magnificent in that natural setting Vincent , fitting that a whirlybird came by and moved your bird into proper view for you .
