Newbottle Church

By jimthistle73
Took this a few days ago while out walking the dog. I'd been gazing out at this view from my kitchen window for days, waiting for the light - this scanned neg doesn't really do the scene justice, so come round for a cup of tea and see the FB print!

I like this. I've been scanning some old negatives, and it's a bit of work to get them looking right. I think you did a great job. Now, where do you live?

I do a lot of negative work and I find I have to equalize or use contrast levels to get decent results.

Thanks all for the comments. Anne, I live just outside Sunderland - there's a wealth of photographic material here, believe it or not....

This image is the result of about half an hour staring at my monitor. All the while though, I was thinking about the changes I would make in the next darkroom session.

I have a negative scanner too - but I haven't taken very good care of my negatives, and deal with scratches and dust.

I really like this for the composition & misty graininess. Kind of timeless image.
