Newgale wave

By ckristoff

I took this image about 10.45am this morning. The conditions looked bleak - a raging wind, the sky overcast and what I was attempting to photograph looked hazy in the distance.

I used my tripod and cable release. Aperture priority using f 5.6 and exposure of 250th sec.
Also the camera was set on centre-weighted metering.

I had just a skylight filter on the lens and didn't use the lens hood. On the lens, I had both IS modes switched on.

After all that, it was down to luck!

I appreciate your comments on my attempt.

It is a well timed shot, but I would have changed the levels PP to show the bg a tad better and lowered the fg levels as it seems wee bit overexposed but a dramtic and well timed shot nonetheless thanks for sharing it Colin
