Night by the bridge

By jacomes
An 'impossible" night shot of a bridge over the river Pisuerga in Valladolid. I wasn't happy with the original (V1) but I liked the scene so I embraced the faults and attempted a painterly pointilliste style using Photolabs and Nik ColorEfex. Have I succeeded in rescuing the photo?

Special thanks to Arne (Saastad) for his award on "Boating on the lake" and to all who have voted and commented, it's nice to get support and encouragement.

I'd say the revisited image was worth doing. Apart from correcting the horizontal, the colours are warmer and more inviting. A conventional camera would have given the opportunity for exposure bracketing (I'm guessing you can't so easily with a phone), but that notwithstanding, it's a very attractive night shot.

I like the little warmer tone, but it gets a little to soft I think.
Just my taste!

Dave, Allan, Bill and Arne; Thank you for your comments above. I,m glad that you liked the photo. The iPhone doesn't have a bracketing facility but does have an HDR option (two shots combined in camera) which I use occasionally, and you can touch the screen to adjust exposure for a particular part of the scene. I took three shots, this was the best one. There was no way to sharpen the image (right on the phone's limits (1/17sec at 2000ISO) , so I went for the softer look which I think suits the scene. Once again, tanks for your interest.

Beautiful low light images and such appealing reflections...
