Night Stop.

By paulbroad
A close mate is railway mad and took me to Lincoln late last year to see the LNER Peppercorn Class A1 60163 Tornado in Lincoln station starting an enthusiast run. We were not allowed on the platform with tripods, so went to the relatively close city centre road crossing.. I shot quite a few images and blessed digital for immediate viewing and the LCD image before exposing.

Not quite as crisp as I would normally like, but best I could do without too high ISO. Traffic causing shake.

This loco is only a few years old. I was not aware they were still built new.

A well composed image Paul, I do like the coloured lights reflecting on the tracks.

Fascinating...
Hi Paul,
Great shot of Tornado.
This loco was taken off the main line by enthusiasts after many years service and completely rebuilt over a few years and got its “Main Line” certification a couple of years ago after extensive testing (on preservation lines I think) Smile

You're mistaken, I'm afraid.

"Tornado" was recently built from scratch and uses main lines although I think it's disallowed from giong above a certain speed.

I'm a bit surprised Paul, that you didn't know about this. I'd have thought it was right up your street.
