Technically excellent but you really must crop top and left to remove all but the orange. Looks like the studio wall in the background - not a good idea.

Once cropped, and I've done it on my screen with card, it is very nice indeed. Logo not too obvious but not needed here - could clone it out in seconds.

Wow, Richard....this is just one light? Was there a lot of ambient around as this is really quite superb! The light, with one light, is very, very even, the DOF works perfectly, nice to see a flash shot thats not pin sharp the whole way down the image....gives it such a lovely depth. The model and colours are tremendous too. What a cracking image! One of your very best in my humble opinion....I LOVE this shot....stunning.....

Thanks Paul, for your suggestions on the crop, I did look at that crop and will look again. It was attually shot in a hotel lobby.
Johnny not a lot of ambient, setting were around F4 @ 1/20

If you do not want to crop add more of the orange to fill!

Nice shot Richard, although I agree that to fill the frame in orange hues would enhance the image, however it's done.

I'm no expert on either lighting or portraiture, but this is appealing. The top is distracting, and should probably be edited, but the color and model's expression are attractive.

Hi Rich

I agree with the others on this about the top part of the image.
but i find the feet also distracting, i see you shot at F4 @ 1/20th.

therefore had you change the exposure you could have got rid of all the distractions as mentioned in the taking stage by taking out the distracting ambient light across the legs.

I would have gone with something like 1/250th at f 2.8 and adjust the EV setting on the flash up or down as required, this would have removed all the distractions by making the background darker taking out the ambient light, the face would stay the same with the same amount of light.

It also looks like the beauty dish is to high as to much light is on her back.

I dont know if the big dog gave you this exposure or set up the image but it a shame as the image is great otherwise as the colours work very well on the foreground.

A tremendous face Richard and so well captured. I will leave others who are more experience than me to discuss other aspects of the image....I wish it was mine.

Well, l think it's a super portrait, Richard, beautiful quality. The only thing I would change would be to crop or clone out the dark area at the top as mentioned above, but I think it's nitpicking!

Super portrait in all aspects, I think if you crop the dark area from the top, the model head will be to close to the edge. This is only my poor idea, still learning from you all. Dusfim

Agree with earlier comments re crop and feet...but still a fantastic shot Richard. Has the look of one of those 1960's film star shots.

My tuppence worth is the girls nose, could do with some modelling light to give it shape, looks as if she boxes on the side.
