Nile Crocodile

By pamelajean
Only the skeleton, of course!

Another exhibit from the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, which is home to a lively programme of research, teaching and events focused on the sciences of the natural environment.

Native to freshwater habitats in Africa, Nile crocodiles are a very aggressive species of crocodile, capable of taking almost any animal within their range. They are ambush predators that can wait for hours, days, and even weeks for the suitable moment to attack.

Thank you all for your interest in my last upload of the Black Bear.

Pamela.

Never visited the Oxford Museum, but spent hours in the Cambridge University Museum as a youth, Also the Museum of Entomology where I scared myself to death with the size of some of the display insects SmileSmileSmile

That little beastie has a really good dentist SmileSmileSmileSmile

I could image if these jaws clamped down on any animal, especially with that set of molars, not much chance of getting away! Great details, and write-up, Pamela.

It's got better teeth than me, even though only a skeleton! 😁 A super close-up, Pamela, the wide-angle making it look quite menacing 😃👍🏻
