I'm not always sure why we get ourselves into these precarious little situations, but I like the photos we get from them.

This was taken after we decided to go looking for black bears on foot. This substantial specimen was down by the river looking for salmon. Taken at Herring Cove, near Ketchikan, Alaska.

heh thanks - the bears are usually far too interested in salmon to ever be bothered with people. the trick - obviously - is not to get too close!
