No Smoke Without Fire

We were just taking our dog for a walk and as we turned the corner a huge plume of black smoke started rising skywards. It looked as if it was coming from a nearby school.... I rushed on ahead (well as fast as I could go in the wheelchair...top speed 4mph). I got to the path behind the school and eventually got through the crowd of school children who had gathered to see if their school was about to burn down!!!!
The fire was not in the main school building but in a storage building in the grounds of the school, I got a few shots of the fire before the sound of the approaching fire engine could be heard.
When they arrived the fire was quickly under control, the surrounding children closed in for a closer look, I eventually got through them to a gate where I could get some other shots.

V5 Camera zoomed in as close as I could get... dampening down in process!

Excitement over we continued with walking the dog!!!!

Such a great sequence John. What a relief it was quickly under control and no one was hurt. It’s so green where you are. Our grass is scorched and tinder dry.

Go reportage series, John. Good to be on the scene with all the action going on. The final image, I feel is the strongest of the set, with the fencing sharp but the firemen out-of-focus, it gives it a feeling of action and urgency.
