Ok , so we've got a wall with some indistinct graffitti on it, with no information about where it is, what it is and why you took it, I'm sorry but your point is ?..............Geoff

bold image to post, like the angle, the white wall looks almost oppresive

I'd agree with Nicholas, actually. It's certainly a bold image, and not immediately appealing. But that may not have been your aim. I also like the angle, and there's a feelign that the viewer is 'hiding' from whatever is beyond the wall. I think the lines on the wall are enough of a texture to break the solid surface up.

I've had a look at your pf and you have some really interesting and unusual stuff in there. Keep experimenting Smile

Hi Geoff,
I took this picture in Nunhead, London, it's a wall outside a pub, on a residential street. I like the way the wall makes an abstract shape over most of the picture, creating another shape out of the detail in the background.
The reason I don't put descriptions with my pictures is that I like them to communicate in their own right, and even if people have different reactions to the ones I intended then I find that interesting and helpful.
Hope that helps.

Hi Honung, thanks for the reply and I'm sorry if I did'nt quite get where you are coming from ( I think that the wall is too dominant in the frame), I'm all for experimenting and good luck to you, I like your attitute and your photography will be all the better for it, I like other pics in your portfolio but this did'nt do it for me this time, after all this is what photography and this site is all about. Have a great day and I look forward to seeing more of your challenging work..... Geoff

hey. this is probably one of my favourites of yours.. your definatly one of if not my favourite photographer on this site. you've just got so much individuality and guts to go for something different, something i also try to do. you're gonna get the usual feedback such as geoff's, he's said this because he's been taught particular rules and it's all either right or wrong, no interest in subtlties or whatever... i love it when someone captures something that i would usually pass by without even considering, i also hope that i do this sometimes. i think we've got quite a bit in common and should stick together!! keep at it and i always look forward to your next upload!

Just to set the record straight, I have never had a photographic lesson in my life and I'm completely self-taught and I am really very open minded about photography, I also judge and teach photography, there is no right and wrong in photography as in any art form. I just did not get this image...OK!!.................Geoff (not quite that set in his ways)
