Norber Erratics

By Somerled7
A wintry view of one of the erratic boulders at Norber in the Yorkshire Dales. These are rocks of hard siltstone deposited by glaciers at the end of the last ice age. The limestone bedrock has gradually eroded away, except where it is protected from erosion by the siltstone, resulting in the erratic sitting on a small limestone plinth.
