normanton church

By lee beel
This is Normanton Church on the shore of Rutland Water.

This shot was taken just after 0500 with the rising sun illuminating the church tower and the countryside in the distance.

Luckily the sky was interesting with lovely pastel colours.

The tower is quite central in the composition but I feel the off-centre body of the church balances this.

Tripod, mirror lock-up and self-timer used.

ND Grad used to balance the exposure and enhance the sky.

Canon EOS 20D with EF 70-200 @ 70mm.

3.2sec @ f16 @ ISO100.
