By JohnnyGraham
Northern Lights in Assynt with an old salmon bothy and croft ruins providing the foreground.

was playing around at this point, so it was f4, iso 400, exposured for about 180s so alittle more movement in the stars than I would normally of went for.

What a sight, and I love the composition of this.

We looked at booking a cruise to see the northern lights but it was quite expensive ans of course there is no guarantee they'll appear. In the end we opted for a springtime cruise of the Fjords, which will hopefully be equally good in it's own way.

Thanks Jude, I've looked at similar northern lights trips over to Iceland. The next few years going towards the peak of the solar cycle is potentially a great time to see them if you head up near or into the artic circle in winter.
