Northern Lights

Well just returned from Norway last night and was privileged enough to see this display two nights ago! We were in Tromso which is 200 miles above the Arctic Circle. Not earth shattering in terms of event intensity but for a first timer it was awesome. Temperature was about -10 or under for all five nights we were there, but I did not have to charge my batteries once! (Thank goodness for the battery grip!) My tripod legs did freeze solid though :S

15 secs at F3.2, ISO 800. Tripod.

PS Thanks to the best GF in the world for making this happen. You know who you are Wink

An amazing shot. All those deep colours and those stark white mountains and then that awesome display in the sky. Worth getting frostbite for, lol! Fab.
