Not A Red Legged Partridge!

Hubby frightened the life out of me by banging on the kitchen window to tell me there were two Red Legged Partridge at the top of the lane. I was seeing spots by the time I'd yomped up there, just for them to see me first and scuttle off! I did manage several photos (at a distance), but nothing worth sharing.

Well, as I was out anyway, I went off for a wander around the farm. Not a lot about, it was quite cloudy and cold this morning. But I did find this female Scorpion Fly! Smile.........will that do instead?

Yes, it will certainly do!
We have an abundance of Red Legged Partridge in the lanes around here.
Not quite as stupid as the Pheasants which are a real hazard but still decline to fly if they can run.
A fine shot.
