Not Sparks

By Rogerex
Yes, more sprinklers! Part of the neighbour's 'centre pivot' irrigation system at sunrise this morning, applying water to a 40 hectare(100 acre) field of recently harvested lucerne. Sharpened and cropped, the colour is unaltered. The mottled effect on the ground under the sprinklers is due to little pools of water between the lucerne (alfalfa) plants.

Alan, we have the drought already due to lack of rain, but this uses underground water from the supply of which is holding up quite well so far. These irrigated areas are real oases when everything around is dry and dusty.

This is a wonderful abstract Roger. I love that golden color. What is Lucerne? We have a lake in Maine by that name. I haven't been able to upload since the change over, but the site seems to work well otherwise.
