Now, how do you start up this thing?

By TrevBatWCC
Following on from my previous upload this is, of course, taken inside the aircraft before my pilot boarded. The version was taken after take-off, as we are flying over the south of the centre of Wakefield. My house is indicated by the red arrow, though it is tucked away behind the tree! The city centre is to the top left of the image. On my trips up with Jim, I took quite a few images through the window looking down, but the majority are a bit wishy-washy, due to haze. This took quite a bit of tweaking in Photoshop to bring out the detail, and it's not the best quality, but thought it was worth inflicting on EPZers… 😃

Many thanks to Richard (DiclsPis) and Dave (HobbitDave) for their User Awards on my previous upload, Off for a quick flight! , most appreciated 🏆👍

Negative images scanned with Plustek OpticFilm 8100, tweaked in Nik Collection's plugins and Photoshop Elements 2020.

Thanks again to everyone for your vote & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 😃👍

That is a scarily complex cockpit shot, very well captured of course. The aerial view is amazing.
Ooh that brings back memories! Nice detailed shot of all the instruments though.

I remember that you shouldn't touch the red button!!!! 🤣🤣

Do you have that red arrow permanently hanging over your house so that Ocado can find you? 👍👍👍

Lovely crisp shot of the instrument panel ... although I can't see where you shovel the coal in. 🥴
The aerial photograph is marvellous. As always an interesting and informative commentary! 😀
Excellent shot of the cockpit Trev, looks rather complicated! Great view from above too.

There seem to be lots of things to turn on before starting the engine. It's a long time since Ive flown in a small aircraft but I can remember what some of the dials are for!
A nice pair of shots Trev,
Looks like a PA28, have a google for the checklist, you'd be surprised how much there is to do.

When Dave learned to fly in Florida, he had to do it in the dark, for one of the tests. For me the experience of flying over an area ,typing in a code to your computer and then having the lights come up for landing was one that I was envious of.

And there is a place for the ignition key! Excellent image of G A cockpit, looks quite tidy, a low hours machine? Nice to see the King Radio comms panels, they were part of the company I worked for in UK. But our place didn't deal with this stuff.

What an intriguing pair of images, Trev, and I’m out of awards today, sadly. Amazing lead picture! That’s a cool instrument panel but I can’t quite see where you put the penny in and wind the handle 😻 Great aerial view too, with the ‘Trev was here’ arrow 😀 Very fine scanning work!
