Oh Dear!

By viscostatic
This is not one of my unusal old cars series. This is just a Vauxhall Nova, although they are quite rare these days.

This was taken during the Snowman Rally in 2008. The story goes that the driver bought the car for his son but decided to test it on the rally first. On one of the stages he rolled it and retired it soon afterwards. Looks like he might have had to use the services of the Dalcross Bodyshop as advertised on the bonnet.

Just an old pot boiler for silly Sunday.

Ah yes. Remembering my attempts to learn to drive. On second thoughts, better not go there...

Probably be cheaper to buy another than attempt to repair.....all the wheels are pointing in different directions too!! Wink

How to fix your Nova problem:
go buy yourself a Fiesta 😂😂

The car looks tiny like a chopped pick up truck The wheels of Nova though are quite distinct.

Great throw back (and rolled) picture.

There appears to be far more wrong with the back end than the front... As Pablo says, it looks as if someone's truncated it!

Yes, the back was very squashed. Fortunately these cars have roll cages which protect the crew. My son was co-driving in one that rolled several times on a Welsh rally and both he and the driver emerged without a scratch.

We all have our own definition of "Fun."

It reminds me of the state of my car when my daughter were learning to drive. She managed to hit a Department of Highways's snowplough and take the left fender off. She came home one day and said, "Your cars in a field on the Dyke Road," Always followed with, "It wasn't my fault."

When she started with her beginner license someone with a real license had to be with her. My ex refused to get in the car so it was down to me. One day I was hanging on to the bar on the dash so hard my finger were white and she says to me, "Of for heaven's sake, Mom. We're not out of the driveway yet!"

It looks like the front wheels are steering in two different directions. This car looks beat.

I don't think I have seen one of these Cars Phil, what catches my eyes is the look of fear

on the drivers face. Bit of fun went wrong hilarious really but not funny....John

on looking again, both driver and navigator seem to be looking at you, Phil. Fear? Or maybe 'WHY is he standing THERE?'
