It is a great privilege to be near to wildlife, and more natural the habitat and wilder the animal, the more humbling the experience- don't you just envy the Ben Osborne's of this world?
Anyway, you asked for critique. The most obvious problem here is the lack of contrast. I think your camera was possibly confused by the back-light into underexposing, but that's easy enough to fix with a levels adjustment.
Having corrected the levels the colours then end up rather OVER saturated, which a Hue&Saturation layer can fix.
In my mod, I have also cropped the bottom of your image to place the group better in the frame which also means the image has a similar aspect ratio to the group of deer, and so does frame them better, so to speak.
