well timed capture, did you whistle them?
firzhugh 17 13 New Zealand

no, I didn't whistle... but my flash went off. they are not captive. the fence belonged to a house which was nearby but the deer were outside, in a forest

Morning cornielia think iwould have cropped out the tree as the branches obscure the deers face and it would still have left you with a good image just me bieng picky as i havent got any deer in my port yet
lol ted

Love the way they are all looking your way Cornelia as they are easily spooked.A great capture of these beauties in their natural habitat.

A lovely capture - it's almost unnerving the way they are all looking earnestly towards the camera - captures their constant vigilance well. Lovely

Agree with above comments, you've done well with this capture.

I'd probably have cropped the lefthand side to remove the tree though.

I'm off to the New Forest in a few weeks and planning a spot of deer stalking! I'd be chuffed to get a shot of just one, let alone this many!

Hello Cornielia, this is a wonderful catch for the wild, yesterday on a walk my wife and I came across two but I zoomed as far as I could but nothing as remarkable as this. Great shot and brilliant exposure.

Wow, I've only ever seen this many deer once and then I was so enthralled at their activities that I forgot all about taking photos! You've done really well to capture them all facing towards you without any moving.

This is so good, because of them all looking directly at the camera. I do like your cropped version more though, condensing it like that makes it even betterSmile They are such beautiful animalsSmile

Wow - a great shot. Very impressed as I would probably have far of pictures of deer bums as they all ran away from me. Of course only I would know that they were deer as the pictures would show them as distant specks! Well done.
