Oil Rig Nursery Inverness

By hwatt
Findhorn, Moray, Scotland.

I have always had a liking for things that are inherently ugly, even repulsive; that for a few moments get the Cinderella treatment, turning the humble potato into a Pomme de Terre with a bit of ooh la! la! It seems that a little bit of rouge and some divine make-up can after all transform even this industrial eyesore, a view I usually avoid.

I photographed this during a winter sunset from my local beach this represents a 20% sectional enlargement from a Fuji GFX50S using a 100-200mm lens just a week ago, I sold my first picture of it today.

By the way the black lumps at the edge of the sea are seals that haul themselves out to bask at low tide.

Like the similarity with mine with the cement works and mist to your pink light against the rigs Smile

A stunningly beautiful sight. Seeing this has brightened a very dull morning, so thank you.
