We had a Heron stood in our pond one morning..........stupidly we forgot to put the net across and the Heron took advantage........lost one fish........so lucky really.......but I hold no grudges, still like the heron...........GrinGrinGrinGrin

Takes the biscuit Ron. The Guest Editor really saying what they like about this fine capture.
They failed to say great timing, exposure and detail and dof spot on.
So thought i'd say it as it makes sense to comment on the photo rather than something completely different.
Great morning, next time we'll get that dam Kingfisher hopefully

Wonderful study of a Grey heron and I very much admire the dropped shadow framing, very stylish and fully compliments the image.

Where I come from a heron is known as Ole Frank. A fine detailed and well composed capture here.

A terrific shot of the heron Ron, the detail in the plumage is sublime and it is most unusual to see him/her with tongue hanging out.
