Old man walking his goat.

One for Silly Sunday, from the 2015 file.
We we were on one of many side trips down dusty tracks to the sea, as we passed through a group of holiday homes we noticed this old man and a goat walking the track to the shore, not often you see this, the goat was quite friendly but somewhat protective of the old man, more like a dog would be, so perhaps it's guardgoat ! !

That's a Saanen goat -originated in the Saanen Valley in Switzerland. A large goat, excellent milk producer. Goats are herd animals and if they don't have at least one other goat they will make a herd of whatever they can. Horses are their favourite but a human will do.

I had 200 goats at one time; 98 milking. New Zealand was always on my bucket list, one of the reasons being its fine reputation for goat milk and cheese production.

A fantastic beach!

Beyond good ..actually rather sublime Nigel. Never know what a day at the beach will bring I guess. Maybe trained to dig up clams ?
