On my quest for a macro lens and not interested in paying hundreds for a nikon lens i thought i would have a play with my old 50mm pentacon lens. So having paid £3.50 on Ebay for a Nikon adaptor to fit the 42mm thread i ventured into the wife's garden and took a couple of shots hand held at 400 iso and was amazed at the colour, sharpness and overall quality of this old lens from the 1970's. i'm no expert in spotting chromatic aberration around highlights and edges but i can't see any signs of purple fringing i'm just astounded that it's possible to achieve such quality with my old standard lens which has a couple of glass bubbles within the lens !!
