Old Thatch Teashop

By TrevBatWCC
First of all, I'd like to thank Jeff Silvers (cats_123) and Ann Collins (pluckyfilly) for their User Awards on my last upload Pencil Cottage , I'm really chuffed! SmileSmile
Next door to Pencil Cottage, which can be seen on the left in this image, is the Old Thatch Teashop, and this also dates back to the 17th century, being built around 1690. It is believed that it was originally built as two, maybe three, Fisherman's Cottages. By the mid-1800s The Old Thatch became Shanklin's first Post Office, Library, Bookshop, House Agent and Agent for Anchor Life Insurance. In the 1940s The Old Thatch went through another major change when it was converted into a Teashop which it has continued up to the present day.
Can you spot the teapot together with a cup and saucer? No prizes for guessing… Wink

Single Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 4 and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

That village really must be a photographer's dream. Love the teapot and cup on the roof and, in yesterday's image, the mice on the roof. Smile

Beautifully maintained properties superbly captured by you in both images.

What a delightful well kept cottage and a joy to see
in your image. I just love this series with your sharing
of these superb thatched premises.
My eldest brother wrote that he is going on a coach
tour on the Isle of White. They ususally go to Cornwall
but the hotel is getting too expensive for them now.
I phone him to say that he is in for a treat with all these lovely places.
The teapot on the top and the dog on the other cottage is unique……..WinkWinkWink
