Oldshoremore...

By Scottishlandscapes
...a wonderfully quiet bay with lovely sands and a walk through the dunes. The village is along a small road that ends not far from here, worth the wander on a fine day.

Looking at this I just can't understand why people go to places that are overcrowded. Isn't this heavenly?
Think I know this bay from a postcard. Wink

Lovely peaceful bay and like all that low dark cloud. Another beauty Dougie. Moira

The coast of Sutherland is littered with such 'unknown' pearls. The white sand beaches and the dunes are a well-kept secret which have not been over-run by tourists. The Scottish 'summers' help to keep the tourists away from as well.Wink.
A fine scene, Dougie. Very well composed, of course.

I could scarcely express this better.
Dungeness and Happisburgh have a similar effect on me: their vastness renders the few visitors effectively invisible.
And seaside resorts out of season enjoy some of that same quality - we never go there in season!
Delicious landscape, Dougie.

A wonderful spot to recharge your batteries and enjoy the solitude, Dougie: I go along with all the comments already made.

An image which takes me back to my childhood when I would plat quite freely amongst the dunes with my brothers and sister. The dunes in question were only a stone throw away from Carnoustie and Scurdie Ness.

Thank you for the wonderful memories Dougie.

Ah - so you went to Oldshoremore too Dougie! I love this place and can wander happily along the sands for hours. You've captured the atmosphere of the place so well here. The colours and light are just perfect in your image.

Lovely beach & bay. Left a tripod overnight on the rocks there once - an excuse to go back the next day....
