On the Wall

By TeresaH
A couple of years ago I went to a Paul Hill Exhibition. The work he had on display was from his snapshot album!

So inspired by a photo of his dog on a wall, I went home and took one of my dog.

Thought I'd upload a snapshot in view of the recent forum thread. I would definitely say this is a snapshot, would you?

Thanks for looking,
Teresa.

Definatly a snapshot Theresa - but many of us sart with just a snapshot and after some work we have a "masterpiece". I think this is nice though

Glad you enjoy. I wish I could view the Paul Hill one again, can't even remember what type of dog he had, small one though!

Like what you have done Greg, it seems much brighter, thanks!

As for Ed, I can take your comments with a pinch of salt, but Noble knows if I give the command "kill", you will have to watch out for your trouser legs!! Hey, come up and meet him and judge for yourself, hee hee!!

By the by, and I'm not being biased, Noble is unique among his breed. He is not a yapper, very very intelligent (I've trained him) and exceeds in agility being a rock climber's dog!!!

Lovely shot Teresa, beautiful dog and he/she looks so majestic standing atop of the wall. I also did a mod, not that it was needed but wanted to counter the mod left by Kit Monster, hope you do not mind. I didn't read the forum thread on snapshots, but I am sure you have made your point, well done! Spot on! CLick!!!

Hello Teresa, you know I can read his thoughts, 'what on earth is she playing at puting me here, she knows I hate heights', lol...good exposure bringing out great colour and clarity. Nice doggy expression shot. There is no shame in a snap shot, the so called experts try to distinguish a difference to boost their ego importance...my response to them would be, I only take snapshots!!!

Added a more constructive mod. Felt it lacked a little depth. Might have over cooked it - the colours, not the dog . . .

Thanks for the mods. Wish I could find a link to the Paul Hill shot that I "copied "this from.

Teresa

I did the following to the shot:

1. Selected the dog only, reduced shadows by 20%
2. Dog still selected, increased saturation.
3. Selected the sky, increased highlights, 10%.
4. Sky still selected, reduced noise, then applied photo filter, deep blue, 25%
5. Selected the entire shot, increased Saturation and Contrast to taste.

Hope this helps, have a goow week!

I like it too. Interesting mods as well. It looks like a good landscape.. with a dog as the icing on the cake.
