On the Wall

My contribution to "Shadow Saturday", a wall brown butterfly resting on a wall on the seafront at Weston-Super-Mare in Somerset. This one was taken near the old Birnbeck Peir back in late August, some of you may recognise it as a variant which I uploaded for Shadow Saturday last week.

Perfectly colour co-ordinated with the lichen on the wall! Superb comp, colours, textures and details .... and a nice shadow too!

Parts of the wall colour coordinate nicely with the wing colour, Ed: good strong shadow cast too.

The harsh light doesn't do it any favours Ed, but a big vote from me for it's rarity value mate.....

As for rarity I usually see these in reasonably good numbers at both Crickley and Leckhampton Hill close to where I live, but sadly not this yearSad
