On Top of the World

By TrevBatWCC
One of my favourite outings on my Swiss holiday was to Brienz, where first we had a good hour exploring the town, then followed by an included a train ride on the Rothorn mountain railway. The hour-long journey conveys you 7.5 km from Lake Brienz to the upper terminus of the line, Brienzer Rothorn, 2,350 metres (7,710 feet) above sea level, at a maximum gradient of 1 in 4 (25%) and includes 5 tunnels. I did upload some images taken just after the holiday, but not this set.
At the summit is this restaurant in the lead image, looking back towards the railway terminus, which is just left of centre perched on the mountainside, V1 being zoomed in on the terminus. V2 is looking down from the restaurant showing how the railway track zig-zags its way up the mountainside, with Lake Brienz in the background. V3 is zoomed in on the track about one-third of the way in from the left and near the bottom of V2 and shows another train wending its way up.
The wider shots were taken with the 18-55mm lens, the zoomed-in on shots with the 70-300mm lens.
