Once upon a time in Wales

By mrswoolybill
Shop front and reflections. I was aware at the time that I had an audience...
I lightened shadows, straightened a bit, cropped, converted to mono and then did one helluva lot of despotting. But no substantial fiddling, the composition is as found, including the signage on the shop window.
Do you need the colour original for explanation? (There's one thing that I still cannot understand, see if you can spot it.)
Thanks for looking,
Moira

I can see you!

It must have taken ages to paint the mannequin - and for what purpose?

Very nice, Moira. My blurry morning eyes is struggling to find what you can't understand. I see the mono is cropped slightly compared to the colour and that's it for me..Smile

Well, that's kept me entertained for far too long........ I've found lots of incongruencies only to disprove/logicalise them! Give up!!!

brain-twisting layers and reflections and of course the riddle remains unsolved to me - does it have to do with reflections after all?

Two fine variations on this reflective image, Moira, think I go for the cropped mono. The 'cannot understand' bit is driving me nuts too! 😕 I've studied this for several minutes now, and totally given up.... 😬

The yellow flowers should be behind the people, not covering them???

I like the crop you have done. No idea about the thing you can't stand. The only thing that jars my eye a little is the white woodwork ? to the models left. It draws the eye quickly away from the image.

A puzzle of a picture in more ways than one with your riddle to solve. Roll on tomorrow! The image itself takes a while to get the hang of it and separate all the reflections and where they come from. However, well seen and realizing the opportunity here for a good picture, which you have produced.

That's part of it Malc. Good eyes. The yellow flowers are inside the antiques shop but there's a related mystery.

Interesting pair of images, I particulary like the mono.

Two cracking images Moira but you'll have to give me time to recover from a hectic week carrying out the Unicorn audit in Sherwood Forest. Apart from anything else my thanks to 'Chase' for the word 'bozwonk' which is perfect for this context! I shall endeavour to make good use of it! My two remaining brain cells are struggling to get to grips with the conundrum you have set but the only thing that strikes me is the apparent reflection of 'Junk and Disorderly' in the window of the antique shop you are photographing. And having just written that I'm wondering why the reflection of 'Junk and Disorderly' along with 'Crossgates' / 'Create Your Own Sign' etc are the right way round given that 'Golden Dragon Restaurant' is in mirror writing. Help!
Must dash as I have a counselling session!

Well she seems 'armless enough on the right even if she appears awfully embarrassed.....'armless unlike your puzzle Moira....
I have stared for ages 😣😣😣😫
One thing I think I do know...the shop has been on Antique's Road Trip😃 I remember the great name!

Just to clarify, the name is written on the window of the antiques shop, so it's not a reflection.
Thanks folks. I too like bozwonk, for my eyes it's a normal state of affairs. But it drives Spellcheck well nigh hysterical...

Terrific, I love your semi transparent, semi reflection shots. Like both versions, each has its appeal.
