One Clove or Two ?

By chase
Another from my session with the Garlic.
I have had this copper kettle for a while, sadly, it has no lid Sad
Lit by one of my light boxes camera left, light diffused with a couple of layers of old net curtain.
Bg is black velvet. Base is part of an old staircase sitting on my ironing board.

An HDR image, 3 frames merged in lightroom, finished in Photoshop.

I wanted a good transition from light to dark but still able to see the general outline of the kettle.

Thanks for dropping by.
Mods and constructive critique welcome... B&W anyone, haven't tried one myself Blush

Uploaded a version, slightly different lighting/colour balance and a nice flower Wink

Great still life composition Janet. My preference goes to the version - just love the more saturated look and the addition of the flower.

Thanks all.
Seems like I chose the wrong one for the lead, oh well Smile

Bill, that's a nice mono, I like the tones you have used, thank you.

The lead works for me Janet.
Just my opinion but for me the flower looks out of place.
In the lead image the garlic press ties it all together.
Pleased you liked the mod.

I think you chose the right lead Janet, Version flower tends to draw the eye away from main subjects.
