Great shot, simple and subtle composition. What is over the hill? A photo mystery! All the best Andy

James Taylor’s ‘walking man’, perhaps? Wonderfully evocative picture, Kath. The dark patch to the left of him reminds me of fresh dried peat in Scotland.

Oh thank you all for dropping by. On the moors at the side of Stoodley Pike, W. Yorks, Andy. You can walk over the moors towards Cragg Vale or head over on the Pennine Way towards Blackstone Edge. Dave, it's a pile of stone blocks. There are lots of tumbled down habitations and walls up there. Taken where I took the galloping horses. Now I'll have to listen to James Taylor! That won't be difficult! WinkWink

Each to their own........the man is engrossed in whatever he's doing and the collie is engrossed in sniffing that grass!!! Great image, Kath.

Two very different animals in the wide open space of the great outdoors.
I didn't say three as I wouldn't dare call you an animal, Kath. SmileWink

Thank you all for taking time to comment and Fred for your lovely award too.

This was pre Covid so he was probably just enjoying a walk over the moors that was regular for them above as Leo commented, together but in their own world. Often occurs with a dog and owner. John, I've been called worse! Wink

Thanks again all.

Probably a mobile these days! Can't remember when I last used a printed map. I want to be there behind them, following to see what's over the hill, such shots are always intriguing... 😃👍
Trev 😀
A wonderful image Kath, so peaceful up there! We have done this walk and enjoyed every moment, the views are spectacular on the top.
Blackstone Edge rings a bell too, think we did all these walks when we stayed in a cottage in Heptenstall a few years ago. Such a beautiful area. SmileSmile

Thank you Bill and Trev and Carol and Wallace. Thank you for your awards too.

Yes Carol, Heptonstall is just above Hebden Bridge and about 5 miles from where the photo was taken. Little gem of an area in West Yorks and different again from other parts.
