In the lead, there is no connection between the wool and the rest of the image - the wool is too close to the camera for a connection to be made, whereas in the version I see a connection between the wool and the sheep and the landscape which provides more context.

Well I did dither as to which version to lead with.. Thanks to Alan, Malc and Leo for the UAs. And thanks to everyone who has called in here while I was struggling round the supermarket.
