One misty, moisty morning continued

By mrswoolybill
June in Northumberland - a soggy woolly upload...
I prefer the composition of the version, but the main upload has the sparkle.
This was a wet knees job, the two photos being taken through different gaps in an extremely inconveniently positioned wire fence.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

EXCELLENT PHOTOGRAPHY - esp. the lead

The Lead is about the wool, and is virtually an abstract. The Version tells a story.
So, an award for the Version.

Lead for me too, just that bit of sparkle, as you say Moira.

Both work well, Moira - the version being my favourite.

Crikey Moira, you really do need some new underwear! What on earth must the neighbours think when you hang out your smalls to dry! Or is the acid rain really that bad in your neck of the woods?Grin

Sorry. Blush

In the lead, there is no connection between the wool and the rest of the image - the wool is too close to the camera for a connection to be made, whereas in the version I see a connection between the wool and the sheep and the landscape which provides more context.
The gong for the version.

Is that a jelly baby hung out to dry on the left, Moira?

Well I did dither as to which version to lead with.. Thanks to Alan, Malc and Leo for the UAs. And thanks to everyone who has called in here while I was struggling round the supermarket.

You should see her next door's, it's much worse... Wink

I like the comparison between fleece caught on the barbed wire, and the donors of the wool in the background!

I didn't know sheep were so clever to hang their coats up to dry. Wonders never cease. I don't know what a jelly belly is but that looks like a bedraggled stuffed teddy bear. Maybe a little lamb actually. I like them both equally.

Compositionally it's the version for me Moira, it takes away the wooly barrier between the viewer and the bg.

My dear chum Bertie had much the same thought as me. Worrying. 🥴 🤣
Having given this some serious thought (serious? moi? 🤣 🙃 🥳Wink I prefer the lead in all respects. The sparkle and the composition make this a winner for me. Consider yourself gonged. 😀 🏆

My thanks to Graham / Eric / Bertie for the gong, (this is as confusing as Alan / Alfred). And to everyone who has called in here.

To clarify, to some I am merely Dave, to others No.1 ( a longish story relating to me being number one of a club that has two other distinguished members, membership of said club requires that your photographic failures far outweigh ones successes, hence me being No.1 Grin) and of course Bertie to my dear virtual friend Gussy Finknottle of newt fame, aka Graham, aka Sir G aka.....Grin

Hope that helps...now who was I again???

I prefer the lead too though I like both pictures. Very clever to have noticed the wool hanging in the barbed wire and combining it with the 'owners' in the background. I wonder if they were shorn in the fields or did they try to get thru the barbed wireWink
