One Park Lane

By ade_mcfade
Managed to get my first after-work-leeds-hdr shots of 2008 today. Was a glorious day and the sunset came up nice... only I was not in a position to get any buildings with the sunset in from where I was... time constraints and all that.

This is from the bridge that joins the olympic pool to the burbs, the glasy buildint is mainly occupied by the Skipton Building society and it's off shoots, I worked for one for a fortnight!

3 shots HDR, the real shots looks surreal so no wonder this one looks a little strange, but I really like it. my fave of 2008 so far... watch it bomb!

If it bombs..don't worry..it doesn't mean a thing. This works really well, with a great range of tones across the image. The depth of detail and interest are superb and the whole thing shouts quality. The bridge leads into the shot beautifully and takes the eye to the distant city lights. In my opnion an excellent shot which will do really well here. Andy I

Superb Bomb.....err I mean Image....Smile

No 1 would be my choice, I like the mono, but no 1 is a more compelling image....For me at least.

Cheers folks - got some crackers from around here. somewhere I'd never considered for photos before too.

I was on my way to a few classics... never got there!

I've got one of the same bridge but looking the other way, may post that tomorrow if I get chance

Think I prefer the toned version Ade, the toning suits the sharp lines which rule this composition so well. You handled the technical side very well, holding the verticals, which seem to be everywhere and all fighting to pull the image out of true. The railings running into the corners is inspired.
Wonderful work and a fine image at the end of some hard work.

All the very best

Eye-catching shot and well processed too. I prefer the colour version .... the sky is a bit over bright in the toned one. If it bombs then it bombs ... EPZ'ers are a fickle lot and have an eye for pretty sunsets or mammary glands. Or both lol.

Cheers folks

I like the toned one more and more Dougie - it's a simple filter in Virtual Photographer, the key's playing with the filter's sliders to get the contrast right.

it looses a little of the sky to the left, but I can live with that Smile

Got one from the other side of the bridge which may make its way on here tonight !

Like the shot Ade. Both versions look unreal when you get to the glass building. I like the colour version simply because of the extra detail that has.

You would not beleive that some of those out of the way places would come up so good.

The light on the building makes it stand out really well.
I worked next to the Olympic pool and remember the building before this one being demolished in spectacular style.

the stairs at the end of this bridge were nice... in a modernist functional style
