So do i attempt to 'blag it' and tell you that the wing-crop is intentional and not at all important in this image, or do i come clean and confess that i had made an error and underestimated the amount of frame the outspread wings would take up?

clearly i could / should have taken at a lesser focal length - pants

either way, you might have noted that the image has been 'modged' somewhat and will not be to everyone's taste - personally i like this sort of thing if done occasionally, and in this instance it offsets the issue that the environment was beyond my control and the hopeless background that was there (well that's not strictly true as i did have the option to not pick the camera up)

Well, that was interesting reading. On the other hand.....I love the light through those cut off wings, and the b/g colour is my favourite. Just thinking about his landing. That said, I love this type of image........Sandy
