That “magic eye” of yours has captured one of the most fascinating images I think I have ever seen! It is certainly an abstract – there is no doubting that, but what is even more amazing is the fact that no digital manipulation is involved. The conversion to black and white really does add to the surrealist imagery, as it brings out far more detail. I love the way the vertical lines – interrupted by those bizarre waves then lead into a completely different, almost 3D effect, as they re-emerge appearing to introduce that new perspective.
As well as the changing perspective, the tonal qualities alter dramatically due to the effect of the strong sunlight. The shadows also create more intriguing shapes, especially in the contrast between the diagonal and the wave like shades. You have captured a wonderful mixture of features in this shot, and I still shake my head in disbelief to think you actually “saw” such an awesome image in the first place.
You have mastered the Art of “seeing the unseen” – for want of a better phrase – and always photograph it in exactly the right way. This is astonishing photography Eric, and as I have a particular fondness for “abstracts”, I can appreciate this composition to the full.
Best wishes,
KJ
