Oulton Park Bikers

By Anthony
For my recent birthday, my dad took me to Oulton Park, Cheshire for the finals of the British Superbikes.

We had a great day despite being cold, wet and windblown.

I thoroughly enjoyed my day out, even had a go at panning with the camera. I took around 1300 shots during the day, and I started to get the hang of it till the big boys came out. They were so fast i couldnt pan quickly enough, ha ha

Anyway, hope you like these upcoming shots.

Anthony Well done , You have caught this Bang On . The front wheel off the ground gives a real sence of speed , Try a tighter and more angular crop on some of your images of the superbikes, It makes the shots a little more dramatic . Wink

thanks. I did crop this one down a bit to try to remove some dead space, and I got this shot from that crop. I also played with some angles, and to my eye, this one worked for me. Still appreciate the advice though, so thanks for taking the time to give it.

Anthony, missed this shot first time round. You have done really well and I like the way you have captured the track and put the bikes into their context. You might find when posting again that, from my limited experience and capability, that there is a balance between showing the context and actually having the subject large enough to fill the frame and attract attention. I think I would have, as has already been mentioned, cropped this a bit further still - the perils than become the sharpness of the bike following (which looks OK from a distance) but become a distraction from the main rider if sufficiently sharp to draw the eye but not sufficiently sharp (or blurred) to be appealing - if you see what I mean!

Nevertheless, if you haven't had that much practice then you have started out very well.

All the best

Chris
